How is Nanotechnology used in VNIBioC?

All VNIBioC products will be made from a nano emulsion containing crystalline nano cellulose made up of nano-sized particles and herbal extracts to ensure greater penetration and improved delivery.

Is Nanotechnology in cosmetics safe?

Nanotechnology in cosmetics can refer to the delivery system used to transport the hero or active ingredient into the skin safely or the particle size of the active ingredients used.

In VNI, Nanotechnology refers to the nanoemulsion that is used to encapsulate the herbal extracts, our hero ingredients whether moringa, neem, bromelain, mangosteen or kesum ( persicaria minus).

The nanoemulsion is an exclusive formulation by a highly qualified pharmaceutical research and development team from an established academic institute in Malaysia.  It is a nanoemulsion because of the use of Crystalline Nano-Cellulose as a delivery agent.

What is Crystalline Nano-Cellulose and why is it being used?

Nanocellulose is a light solid substance obtained from plant matter which comprises nanosized cellulose fibrils. This new material is pseudo-plastic and possesses the property of specific kinds of fluids or gels that are generally thick in normal conditions. The lateral dimensions of nanocellulose range from 5 to 20 nm, and the longitudinal dimension ranges from a few 10’s of nanometers to several microns.

In cosmetic formulation, CNC performs the following functions :

  1. Provide texture that improves a product’s feel in facial and body application.
  2. Act as an emulsifier (oil-water emulsion).
  3. Stabilizer (enables homogeneity of liquid base system).
  4. Thickener (imparts rheological properties).
  5. Promotes reactivity.
  6. Gentle sensation (superfine and soft particles).
  7. Improve penetration into skin

A nanoemulsion with CNC and herbal extracts that are used to infuse a bio-cellulose facial sheet mask would be able to deliver antioxidants, phytonutrients and vitamins directly onto the skin enabling greater absorption safely and effectively.

What is Biocellulose?

Biocellulose was first developed as an artificial skin to treat patients with severe burns and wounds. It is actually a natural fiber, extremely thin with a diameter of 20 nanometers – a thousand times thinner than the average human hair.

Biocellulose is a naturally grown fiber made by tiny bacteria that convert glucose into cellulose in a lab, normally from coconut water. These fibers make up the fabric of facial sheet masks.  Biocellulose masks tend to be a bit more expensive than traditional paper masks as it takes almost two weeks to ‘harvest’ the fibers and weave them Into a fabric.

After the Biocellulose fibers are woven into a fabric and cut into a sheet mask, the mask is preloaded with nourishing ingredients for healthy, glowing skin.

How is VNIBioC's bio-cellulose masks different from other masks in the market?

The five most important and beneficial properties of VNIBioC’s bio-cellulose masks are :

  1. Able to absorb up to 100 times their dry weight and donate moisture and liquid to the skin which makes them ideal delivery systems for skin-nourishing ingredients.
  2. 100% compostable meaning that it is biodegradable and friendly to the environment. No worries about contributing to more cosmetic waste!
  3. More durable as bio-cellulose fabric are tightly woven and will not rip or tear easily. Plus the CNC nanoemulsion helps to strengthen and stabilize the mask even more.
  4. Toxin-Free as bio-cellulose fabric is not treated with chemicals unlike paper masks.
  5. Clings to skin and does not dry out which makes them more effective in delivering every drop of nourishing serum to every part of your skin.
What is the correct use of the mask?
  • Cleanse face thoroughly. Dry well.
  • Open the packet with clean, dry hands. Unfold the three layers of the sheet.
  • Remove the non-woven sheet and place the bio nano sheet on your face.
  • Gently press the bio nano sheet evenly to fit onto your face.
  • Remove the white plastic film.
  • Leave the sheet mask on your face
  • Remove after 20 to 30 minutes. No need to rinse as any remaining serum will be absorbed naturally.
How many types of masks are there under VNIBioC?

Currently, there are 5 types of facial sheet bio-cellulose masks produced by VNI which are:

  1. Exfoliate and Repair Mask with Bromelain and Crystalline Nano Cellulose.

– With AHA, Vitamin C and Anti-Oxidants.

  1. Calm and Soothe Mask with Neem and Crystalline Nano Cellulose.

– Heal and fade scars and dark spots, anti-inflammatory and help boost collagen production.

  1. Hydrate and Firm Mask with Moringa and Crystalline Nano Cellulose.

– Boosts collagen production, helps repair the skin barrier, has Vitamins A, C and E, rich in anti-oxidants.

  1. Anti-Aging and Anti-Inflammatory Mask with Kesum and Crystalline Nano Cellulose.

– Rich in antioxidants,  helps reduce blemishes and wrinkles.

  1. Brighten and Glow Mask with Mangosteen and Crystalline Nano Cellulose.

– Evens out skin tone, anti-pollution, with antioxidants.

What are the VNIBioC serums for?

The VNIBioC serums complement the use of the mask and are formulated according to different skin concerns. The serums are for everyday use unlike the masks which are used two to three times a week. The lightweight serums contain herbal extracts rich in anti-oxidants to provide a shield against pollutants,  repair damaged skin cells and help prep the skin for the moisturiser and sunscreen to follow.

When used at night, the serum is absorbed into the skin to repair and rejuvenate the skin.

What are the Eye Patch masks for?

VNIBioC Eye Patch masks are designed to improve microcirculation and reduce puffy eyes and dark circles when used at least 3 times a week.

How often should we use the VNIBioC masks / serum / eye patch?

As VNIBioC masks, serums and eye patch are made from natural ingredients under hygienic GMP certified conditions, they can be used as frequently as needed as per any other cosmetic product.

Our recommendation would be as below:

SERUM

– Once in the morning after cleansing and before makeup.

– Once at night after cleansing.

– Twice a day every day of the week.

MASK

–  Once a day every three to four days on a clean face.

EYE PATCH

– Once to twice a day, every day as needed to refresh eyes and reduce puffiness.
